OUR EXPERT SAYS….

Portugal vs France . . .

Portugal have lost their last 10 games against France and have the in form Antoine Griezmann who is the competition’s top scorer with six goals, but the Portuguese want to revenge their upset of losing to Greece in their last major tournament final. Pepe has been passed fit for Portugal which is a huge boost to their backline. William Carvalho is also expected to return to the starting line-up after missing the semi-final through suspension. France have no fresh injury concerns or suspensions. The host nation named an unchanged team in consecutive games for the first time in their European Championship history in the semi-final, and Deschamps could name the same XI again on Sunday. France will attack and Portugal will keep shape looking to counter with Ronaldo and Nani. Portugal are unbeaten in their 13 competitive fixtures under Fernando Santos (winning nine and drawing four). Eight of those nine wins were decided by a single goal and this one could go down to the wire, maybe even OT and/or Penalties. However, France are unbeaten in their last 18 major tournament games played on home soil, winning 16 and drawing two. So, with France being the home nation and arguably the better squad, i think the French will take this. France win 2-0 with Griezmann and Payet with the goals.
