NYRB, Philly and DC all Stumble in MLS Opener

Three teams who  needed to get off to a fast start in the MLS Eastern Conference all stumbled in their season opener.  NYRB fell in front of their home crowd to Toronto 2-0.  Traveling to FC Dallas, Philly was hopeful that they would return home with a victory for head coach Jim Curtin after a tough 2015 campaign.  Keeper Andre Blake showed well with 8 saves but 2 shots found the back of the net , giving Dallas the 2-0 victory.  DC United who began 2015 on fire,  only to cool down and end the campaign in disappointing fashion last year traveled to LA and fell to the Galaxy 4-1.  Without Perry Kitchen and Chris Pontius, who have both moved on to other clubs, DC seemed to struggle in the 2nd half.  The good news for all the losing clubs is that there’s tons of season left.  Stay tuned for a full MLS WEEK 1 ROUND UP.
