MLS WEDNESDAY NIGHT MATCHUPS

The MLS season is kicking into full swing.  Tonight’s matchups include the struggling NY RED BULLS  vs FC DALLAS.  It’s hard to say do or die this early in the  season but playing in the difficult Eastern Conference,  the RED BULLS  desperately need a result tonight.  At 2-6, 3 points would go a long way for this struggling side.

NYCFC plays Montreal tonight as well.  NYCFC has six points from seven matches and is tied with the New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.  Montreal, which is tied atop the east with Philly at 12 points, is coming off a 2-0 loss to Toronto FC Saturday in a game that featured the return of Didier Drogba to their lineup.

The  NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION host the PORTLAND TIMBERS tonight.  The struggling TIMBERS are coming off of a week off while the REVS look to battle back from a 3-0 loss to DC UNITED  in their last contest.  PORTLAND won the only matchup last season 2-0.

VANCOUVER WHITECAPS and SPORTING KC round out tonight’s matches.  This match may very well set the tone for the rest of the Western Conference this season. SPORTING has won their last three meetings and have never lost at home to VANCOUVER  .  Overall, they have played 8 times and VANCOUVER has only managed to win 1 match in the history of their matchups.
