GOOD WEEK FOR FC DALLAS

FC DALLAS continues to roll along atop the Western Conference.  They put two more victories up this week, giving them another 6 points and a league leading 11 victories in this 2016 campaign to date. If that wasn’t enough to justify saying they are having a great week, they make an interesting international signing that could give them additional depth through the dog days of summer and into the fall as the season draws to a close.

FC Dallas officially announced the signing of Getterson.  It is a loan deal from his previous club, J. Malucelli
Full name Getterson Alves dos Santos, he’s a 25-year-old player (born: May 16, 1991) most recently with JMalucelli in Curtiba, Brazil.  Getterson is a striker and can definitely help FC Dallas offensively if he can adapt to the MLS style of play.

The player has somewhat luckily, at least for him perhaps, fallen into FC Dallas’ lap. Based on reports, Getterson had signed with São Paulo FC (see pic above). Upon his signing, it was discovered that five years earlier he had made some disparaging remarks about São Paulo fans. Unsurprisingly, when São Paulo fans learned of Getterson’s comments, they were a bit upset, and the club was forced to tear up the contract the next day.
In swept FC Dallas, as Getterson has now reportedly agreed to a contract that will run through December.
