Argentinian Connection Has Immediate Impact For DC United

LUCIANO ACOSTA who was just signed by DC UNITED comes up with a big turnover and assist Saturday night. The former BOCA JUNIORS star midfielder connected with fellow Argentinian FABIAN ESPINDOLA for a goal in DC UNITED’S match, earning them the 1-0 victory over the TAMPA BAY ROWDIES. Espindola also played for BOCA JUNIORS in 2005. Acosta comes to DC with high expectations as Ben Olsen’s black and red squad looks to erase last season’s late woes that saw their dominating hold on the MLS Eastern Conference slip away and put them in a tough spot going into the playoffs. It ultimately lead to them being knocked out. The Argentinian Acosta had other MLS suitors in the PHILADELPHIA UNION who ultimately decided the price tag was too steep for Acosta. The ever aggressive New York Red Bulls were also very interested but DC ultimately landed Acosta. The acquisition of Acosta and a very good pre season to date looks to put DC back into the top of the pack in the Eastern Conference this season.See More
